The New York Folklore Society is offering a day-long workshop on May 17 to explore merging the arts with social services to better serve newcomer traditional artists and to enliven the community at large. National and local models of successful arts and social service collaborations will be presented, and participants will also be able to hear from newcomer artists who will perform, demonstrate and talk about the importance of maintaining their cultural traditions in their new homeland.

See the AFS Calendar for more information.
