University of Wisconsin-Madison Seeks 2 Assistant Professors in Anthropology

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Anthropology invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2013. Ph.D. required prior to start of appointment.

The department seeks an empirically grounded scholar with an active research program, well versed in contemporary anthropological and ethnomusicological theory, who ranges widely in interdisciplinary scholarship. Preference given to candidates with research in Latin America, the Caribbean, or South Asia and topical focus on global popular music, diaspora studies, or the political economy of music. Standard teaching load will be four courses per year with two courses in ethnomusicology.
