Each of the AFS
2012 election candidates nominated by the AFS Nominating Committee has provided a
summary professional biography and a platform statement for voters'
information. Please visit the main election page by clicking the 2012 Election link in the top menu on any AFS web site page. Once you are on the election page, please click on the candidates' names to read the information they have submitted.
We have invited all candidates to participate in a Candidates' Forum on
Saturday afternoon of the New Orleans annual meeting, and we invite all Society
members who will be at the meeting to attend and hear the candidates speak. Secure online voting will begin
around November 1 and will continue through December 31. Those elected
will take office on January 1, 2013.
Our thanks go to
all candidates for their willingness to serve our Society and field, and
to the members of the 2012 Nominating Committee (Stephen Winick, chair;
Christina Barr, Leonard Norman Primiano, and Sally Van de Water) for
the work they have done to assemble this slate of candidates.
