Grants for International Arts Engagement

Robert Sterling Clark Foundation: Promoting International Arts Engagement

The objective of the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation’s Promoting International Arts Engagement program is to help advance global understanding through the arts. The Foundation supports international engagement between U.S. visual and performing arts organizations and their counterparts in Africa, Latin America, and parts of the Middle East. Projects that bring international artists to the United States are supported, though the Foundation prefers projects that send representatives of U.S. arts organizations abroad. Support is provided for the following strategies: partnerships involving federal agencies working in conjunction with U.S. cultural organizations and foundations to develop arts engagement projects; partnerships to promote corporate support for international arts engagement; partnerships with foreign entities to conduct arts engagement projects that bring U.S. artists to their countries abroad; U.S. performing arts organizations that build relationships with international partners; U.S. visual arts organizations that develop international collaborations in contemporary art and exhibitions practice; partnerships to develop funding consortia in support of international arts engagement; and development of Internet technology that advances global arts engagement. Proposals may be submitted throughout the year.

Application guidelines<>are available on the Foundation’s website.
