Hotel Reservations

Most conference events will take place in the Santa Fe Convention Center or the Eldorado Hotel.

AFS has secured a conference rate at three area hotels:

  • Eldorado Hotel & Spa

Located just steps from the historic Santa Fe Plaza, the Eldorado Hotel & Spa is walking distance from a host of local treasures, including the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, Canyon Road art galleries, and much more in a city rich in history. This hotel features the Old House restaurant, a rooftop pool, spa, fitness center, and is only .2 miles from the convention center.

Reservations can be made directly by calling the hotel at 800-955-4455 and referencing the American Folklore Society or using this link for online reservations: https://reservations.ihotelier.com
/crs/g_reservation.cfm?groupID=883568&hotelID=3601
.

Conference rate: $159/double

  • La Posada de Santa Fe

Located in the heart of Santa Fe, just steps from the Historic Plaza, La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa combines the upscale amenities and refined accommodations of a modern resort with authentic adobe architecture. From the property's roots as an 1880s brick mansion to its 1930s expansion and recent renovation and refurbishment, this unique hotel is on six acres in downtown Santa Fe and is .6 miles from the convention center. The hotel is now part of the Starwood Collection of hotels.

Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-325-3589 and referencing the American Folklore Society or by using this link for online reservations: https://www.starwoodmeeting.com/Book/AFSnov2014.

Getting to Santa Fe

The Santa Fe Convention and Visitor's Bureau provides detailed information about how to make arrangements to get to Santa Fe, including air travel, shuttles, trains, and rental cars; see http://santafe.org/Visiting_Santa_Fe/About_Santa_Fe/Getting_to_Santa_Fe/.

Flights directly to Santa Fe are available; check to see if they will work for you. Many travellers, though, find more options flying to Albuquerque, followed by a shuttle for the roughly one-hour drive to Santa Fe.

American Folklore Society conference attendees can reserve the Albuquerque/Santa Fe shuttle service with Sandia Shuttle at a discounted rate of $40 round-trip. In August, you should reserve your place by calling the Sandia customer service center at 888-775-5696 and referencing the American Folklore Society; alternatively, book online and use the discount code AFS2014.
