Atlantic Folklife Association, are pleased to announce the 2014 Mid
Atlantic Folklorist Retreat will take place on April 5-7, 2014 in Berkeley
Springs, West Virginia.
What is the Folklorist Retreat? A biennial
gathering of regional public sector, academic and independant folklorists,
students of folklore and those closely associated with the field, to learn,
make new connections and reconnect with old ones, and share common issues in a safe

located in downtown Berkley Springs, West Virginia. A block of
rooms are held at the Country Inn and can be reserved by calling (304) 258-1200
and using the group name "Mid Atlantic Folklorist Retreat". In
addition, nearby Cacapon Resort State Park <http://www.cacaponresort.com/>
has very reasonably priced rooms and even more reasonably priced modern
cabins that can sleep up to five people. To reserve at Cacapon call

Can families attend? Yes! There
will be plenty of time to explore the town and surrounding environs, regional
hiking trails, and the historic Berkeley Springs hot springs and spas.
What can you tell me now? The focus of the
retreat will be "Folklore Infiltration: Folklore at Work Beyond the
Field." There will be panel discussions, a pie-making workshop with

focus on connecting to online communities, a concert with Linda Lay and
Springfield Exit, and plenty more.
