I hope that you can be there on Friday the 16th, 2015 when the Folklore and Museums section meets for the first time. It will be a historic event. Our meeting will happen in conjunction with a society-wide discussion of the white paper and recommendations recently completed by the Folklore and Museum Policy and Practice Working Group. In a sense, the final formal meeting of the Working Group and the first formal meeting of the Section will co-occur, allowing the Section to pick up and carry forward the work of advancing museum-minded folklore studies. This event is 05-12 in the AFS Annual Meeting program and will take place in the Shoreline Room of the Westin Long Beach Hotel on Friday from 10:15 am to 12:15 am.
