On August 5, at 7 pm, the Library goes on a (short!) road trip to the Hill Center on Pennsylvania Avenue, Capitol Hill. The program includes a screening of the documentary This Little Light of Mine: The Legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer (2015) and a subsequent conversation with filmmaker Robin Hamilton & NPR host Michel Martin.

On August 5 at 7 p.m., the Library goes on a (short!) road trip to the Hill Center on Pennsylvania Avenue, Capitol Hill. The program includes a screening of the documentary This Little Light of Mine: The Legacy of Fannie Lou Hamer (2015) and a subsequent conversation with filmmaker Robin Hamilton & NPR host Michel Martin. The event is free, but advance registration is required at the Hill Center site to ensure a seat. Read more here.

This event is part of the American Folklife Center’s "Many Paths to Freedom: Looking Back, Looking Ahead at the Long Civil Rights Movement” series, scheduled to call attention to the fiftieth anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which occurs in August 2015.
