The 2013 Middle Atlantic Folklife Association ("MAFA") conference will be held on June 14-16, 2013 at Goucher College in Baltimore County, Maryland. The conference offers a space for mid- Atlantic based folklorists and those interested in or working in related fields to get together for formal sessions and informal networking. Highlights will include conversations on the topic of cultural sustainability, a deeper look into the future work of MAFA, an afternoon at the fantastic Maryland Traditions Folklife Festival including a special guest panel on the ups and downs of fieldwork in "Stories from the Field: Folklorists at Work in the Mid-Atlantic” and a special tribute to our departed colleague Polly Stewart, who had such a significant impact in the region and beyond. Program agenda and registration materials will be available early May 2013. For more information, please contact David Puglia at
