AFS Membership Categories and Annual Dues
AFS Section Membership
Sections of the AFS are groups within the Society organized around specific interests. For the benefit of their members, sections publish newsletters and other publications, sponsor program sessions at AFS annual meetings, award prizes for outstanding work, and offer the opportunity for professional and personal contact.Read more about AFS Sections.
New Feature: You may create or renew your Section memberships at the same time that you create or renew your AFS membership—you will have an opportunity to select your Sections before submitting your membership dues payment.
Alternatively, AFS members may still join or renew Sections at any time in the online store.
Non-AFS members may also join AFS Sections. To do so, registeras a Sections Only member, free of charge, and make your Section selections during the registration process. Section Only members do not receive AFS member benefits.
Site visitors may post comments to the public forums and join free discussion groups by "joining" as Web Only members. The registration is free, but it must be renewed annually. The registration process allows Web Only members to create and manage a Profile, including a username and password, all of which are needed to participate in the online community; please allow up to a week for AFS staff to process the registration. Web Only members do not receive AFS member benefits, including access to members-only content in the AFS website.
To ease currency and other restrictions for members and potential members who live outside the United States, AFS members are invited to contribute to a fund for the sponsorship of international memberships. Your $50.00 contribution will be matched by the society to provide full membership benefits. You may nominate a current or potential member for sponsorship, or make a contribution to support this initiative; to do so, please visit the online store. |
